Educational seminar: Debrief of faithless elector cases

Today we hosted a 30-minute webinar discussing Wednesday’s faithless elector cases, Chiafalo v. Washington and Colorado Department of State v Baca. Amy Howe of Howe on the Court and Cathy Ruffing of Street Law led an interactive discussion with middle school students about the arguments made in these cases and the possible implications for the Electoral College.

Educational seminar: Preview of Our Lady of Guadalupe School v. Morrissey-Berru

Today at 1:00 p.m., we held a 30-minute webinar before the oral argument next Monday, May 11, in Our Lady of Guadalupe School v. Morrissey-Berru. Kevin Russell of Goldstein & Russell and Daniel Mach of the American Civil Liberties Union led an interactive discussion with high school students, starting with a preview of the case and then addressing questions related to the separation of church and state.

Today at noon, we held a video discussion of yesterday’s first-ever telephonic oral argument, in U.S. Patent and Trademark Office v. Booking.com. Tejinder Singh of Goldstein & Russell and John Duffy of the University of Virginia School of Law talked about the new argument format and what the case may mean for trademarks in marketing and advertising.
