Kal handles petitions for SCOTUSblog. His duties include monitoring newly filed cert petitions, updating the Petitions We're Watching page, and writing the Petitions of the Week column.

Kal is also the assistant director of the Supreme Court Institute at Georgetown Law, where he helps plan moot courts for advocates arguing in front of the court. From 2019-2021 he was the blog manager of SCOTUSblog, and he previously worked at the American Constitution Society and interned at the Center for American Progress. Kal graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in applied mathematics.
