At 1 p.m. on Monday, April 8, Casey Family Programs – which filed an amicus brief in support of the respondent birth father in Adoptive Couple v. Baby Girl, scheduled for oral argument on April 16 – will host a press briefing on the case. Several prominent child welfare experts will participate in the event, which will be teleconferenced with an optional video. At 4 p.m. on Monday, April 15, the Georgetown University Law Center’s Supreme Court Institute will honor Judge Stephen R. Reinhardt of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in its inaugural Distinguished Jurist program.
