Today at the Court: January 10, 2012
At 10:00 a.m. we expect the Court to issue one or more opinions in argued cases. We will have Live Blog coverage of any opinions that are issued.
The Court is scheduled to hear oral argument in two cases this morning. At 10:00 a.m. the Justices will hear argument in Knox v. Service Employees International Union (SEIU), in which they will consider whether the First Amendment gives state employees the right to decline to pay union dues used for political advocacy by the union. Ross Runkel previewed the case for the blog. The second oral argument of the day is in Federal Communications Commission v. Fox Television Stations, a case involving a challenge to the constitutionality of the governments ban on indecency in broadcast media. Lyle Denniston previewed the case for the blog last week. It is also the subject of one of our discussions in the Community.
