Carney v. Adams

Docket No. Op. Below Argument Opinion Vote Author Term
19-309 3rd Cir. Oct 5, 2020 Dec 10, 2020 8-0 Breyer OT 2020

Holding: Because Adams has not shown that he was "able and ready" to apply for a judicial vacancy in the imminent future, he has failed to show a "personal," "concrete" and "imminent" injury necessary for Article III standing.

Judgment: Vacated and remanded, 8-0, in an opinion by Justice Breyer on December 10, 2020. Justice Sotomayor filed a concurring opinion. Justice Barrett took no part in the consideration or decision of this case.
