BLAG marriage brief on merits filed

The Republican members of the House of Representatives’ leadership — the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group (BLAG) — have filed their brief on the merits in the Defense of Marriage Act case. It can be read here. The brief does not discuss whether the GOP leaders have standing to defend the Act’s constitutionality; their brief on that point is due February 22. The blog will do a post on this brief’s contents shortly.
