Wednesday round-up

Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis, who had spent several days in jail after she continued to refuse to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples even after the Supreme Court declined to stay a federal judge’s ruling ordering her to do so, was released yesterday.  Lyle Denniston reported on the latest developments for this blog, with (brief) commentary coming from Marty Lederman at Balkinization.

Briefly:

• Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services (via YourWestValley.com) reports that Arizona’s secretary of state “has joined Republican interests in asking the U.S. Supreme Court to void the state’s current legislative-redistricting plan.”
• At the Pacific Legal Foundation’s Liberty Blog, Wen Fa responds to Linda Greenhouse’s column for The New York Times on standing and conservative judges (which we covered in last week’s round-up), describing her suggestion that “Article III standing analysis changes depending on whose ox gets gored” as “wrong.”
