The week ahead

Today the Court will release orders and the final opinions of the Term at 10 a.m. Eastern, and we will provide live coverage.  Those final opinions are Bilski v. Kappos (patents), Free Enterprise Fund v. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (separation of powers), McDonald v. Chicago (guns), and Christian Legal Society v. Martinez (right of association).  In a post this weekend, Lyle described how we expect the day to play out, and Tom predicted the outcomes and opinion authors for the remaining four cases.  We may get additional orders in the afternoon.  Today is also Justice Stevens’ last day on the Supreme Court bench, after thirty-four complete Terms.

It is possible that further orders will come later in the week.

The petitioners’ merits briefs are due this week in three cases.  The schedule of filing dates follows the jump.
