Holding

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993's express remedies provision, 42 U.S.C. § 2000bb–1(c), permits litigants, when appropriate, to obtain money damages against federal officials in their individual capacities for violating litigants' right to free exercise of religion under the First Amendment.

Judgment

Affirmed, 8-0, in an opinion by Clarence Thomas on Dec 10, 2020. Justice Barrett took no part in the consideration or decision of this case.
