Holding

The Department of Veterans Affairs' determination that the evidence regarding a service-related disability claim is in "approximate balance" pursuant to the benefit-of-the-doubt rule in 38 U.S.C. § 5107(b) is a predominantly factual determination reviewed only for clear error.

Judgment

Affirmed, 7-2, in an opinion by Clarence Thomas on Mar 5, 2025. Justice Jackson filed a dissenting opinion, in which Justice Gorsuch joined.
