On this last day of 2014, here’s the Court-related news, briefly: Jessica Gresko of the Associated Press (via Yahoo! News) reports that Bobby Chen, the pro se petitioner in Chen v. Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, still cannot be found; the deadline for him to file his opening brief was December 22, but the Court has not yet received it.
The Supreme Court is moving toward a full and free-access system for all documents filed in cases before the Justices — a system expected to be working “as soon as 2016,” Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., revealed in his annual year-end report on the federal judiciary.
