Tuesday round-up

Briefly:

  • For The New York Times, Adam Liptak explains that Espinoza v. Montana Department of Revenue, which asks “whether states are free to erect a wall between church and state high enough to exclude religious groups from some state benefits,” is “a proxy battle over school choice.”
  • Bill Mears reports for Fox News on Chief Justice John Roberts’ role in a presidential impeachment trial, concluding that Roberts “knows maintaining his — and the court’s reputation — during a hyper-partisan impeachment drama will test his leadership skills.”
  • At Empirical SCOTUS, Adam Feldman “looks at differences in decisions early in terms (between September and December) and later in terms (between January and June).”
