The petition of the day is:

Issues: (1) Whether the district court judge’s failure to recuse himself – or even disclose his involvement with the police investigation relating to the likely murder weapon in this case – violated the petitioner’s rights under the due process clause; (2) whether, under McDonough Power Equipment, Inc. v. Greenwood, demonstrating “a valid basis for a challenge for cause” requires a showing that the juror would have been subject to mandatory disqualification, or whether it requires that a reasonable judge would have granted a challenge for cause; and (3) whether the McDonough test applies only to a juror’s deliberate concealment, or whether it also applies to misleading omissions.
