Today at the Court: January 17, 2012

We expect the Court to issue the remaining orders from the January 13 Conference at 10 a.m.; we will cover those orders in our Live Blog.  Lyle postedon the three cases from that Conference that were granted on Friday.

Following orders, the Court will hear oral argument in United States v. Home Concrete, in which the Court will consider whether the IRS can extend the time to pursue additional taxes because a deduction was overstated on a return.  Alan Horowitz previewed the case for this blog. The second argument will be in Filarsky v. Delia, in which the Court will consider legal immunity for private lawyers while they are working temporarily for the government.
