New April argument calendar

The Supreme Court on Thursday released a revised calendar of oral arguments for the April sitting beginning next Monday. The dismissal on Thursday of BCI Coca-Cola Bottling v. EEOC (docket 06-341) removed one of the cases scheduled for hearing on Wednesday, April 18. The Court left the two others scheduled as before — one at 10 a.m. and the other at 1 p.m.
Here is the revised calendar.
The order dismissing the BCI case reads: “The foregoing motion to dismiss the writ of certiorari in the above-entitled case having been received by the Office of the Clerk, and no fees due the Clerk, the writ of certiorari is now hereby dismissed pursuant to Rule 46.2 of the Rules of this Court.”
Rule 46.2 provides that a petitioner may file a motion to dismiss with proof that the other side has been notified and that costs due have been paid.
The BCI case involved a significant issue of employment discrimination law. As noted in this post on Wednesday, the Court has two other cases pending on the same issue.
