Lyle Denniston honored by Burton Foundation

We are both proud and thrilled to announce that our colleague Lyle Denniston is the first recipient of the Burton Foundation’s “Outstanding Journalist in Law Award.”  The Burton Foundation established the Burton Awards for Legal Achievement in 1999 to recognize achievements in the law, and in particular legal writing.  In announcing the inaugural award for journalism, William C. Burton, the founder and chair of the Burton Awards, emphasized that “[t]he art of journalism incorporates the finest style and techniques of writing and ensures clarity, conciseness, accuracy and fairness.”  Lyle, Mr. Burton continued, “possesses all these enviable attributes.”  We couldn’t agree more, and we are grateful to the Burton Foundation for recognizing all of Lyle’s contributions to the field of legal journalism.

More information about Lyle’s award and the Burton Foundation Awards generally is available here.
