Academic round-up

I am delighted to be taking over the academic round-up duties from David Stras, who has recently been appointed to the Minnesota Supreme Court.  I am a Professor at American University Washington College of Law, and my scholarship and teaching focus on the role of the federal courts.  Before entering academia I was an attorney at Public Citizen, where I litigated cases at all levels of the federal judiciary.  Like David, I will blog about recently published academic articles concerning the Supreme Court, and will also occasionally comment on aspects of the federal judiciary that I think will be of interest to SCOTUSblog readers.  This blog is fairly unique in attracting both academics and practitioners, and so I will try to bridge the widening divide between these two communities.  I welcome feedback or suggestions from readers about topics and articles of interest.
