Kal (he/they) covers cert petitions on SCOTUSblog. They monitor newly filed petitions, maintain the Petitions We're Watching page, and write the Petitions of the Week column.

Kal is pursuing a law degree at Columbia Law School. Previously, they were the assistant director of Georgetown's Supreme Court Institute, the blog manager of SCOTUSblog, and the lawyer chapters fellow of the American Constitution Society. Kal received a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from the University of Georgia.
