The Court has released the opinion in two cases today.
The Court has released the opinion in Corley v. United States (07-10441), on suppression of a voluntary confession. The decision below, which held for the United States, is vacated and remanded in a 5-4 opinion by Justice Souter, available here. Justice Alito filed a dissenting opinion joined by the Chief Justice and Justices Scalia and Thomas.
The Court has released the opinion in United States v. Navajo Nation (07-1410), on Indian coal lease amendments. The decision below, which held for the Indian tribe, is reversed and remanded in a unanimous opinion by Justice Scalia, available here. Justice Souter filed a concurring opinion joined by Justice Stevens.
