The Nine: a Correction

Jeffrey Toobin, author of recently released book The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court, asked that we post the following correction.

One of the frustrations of writing a book, as opposed to a magazine article, is the inability to make corrections in a timely way. In The Nine, I write (p. 100) that one of the clerkship screeners for Justice Thomas is Jack Goldsmith, the professor at Harvard Law School and author of The Terror Presidency. I was wrong; Jack has never screened for Thomas. Before a correction in the next edition of the book, I thought a note in the blog-of-record was the next best thing.
