Here at SCOTUSblog, we’re grateful for our regular readers and for the comments left by those readers, which often foster lively debates and add unique perspectives. At the same time, however, we believe that comments which do not address either the substance of issues or the substance of others’ comments in good faith, but instead devolve into ad hominem attacks, are not useful to either the blog or its readers. As such, we want to gently remind our commenters that, even (or perhaps especially) when commenting on posts or other comments that tend to engender strong reactions, they should keep their comments civil and substantive.
