Last month, we filed an amicus brief on behalf of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys in Bowles v. Russell, No. 06-5306, in conjunction with our Winter Term Supreme Court Litigation class at Harvard. The issue in the case is whether the Sixth Circuit properly dismissed an appeal that was filed within the time permitted by an order reopening the time for appeal under Fed. R. App. 4(a)(6), when the order extended the appeal time longer than is permitted under that Rule.
The Harvard students working on the case were Melanie Bostwick, Francis Kieran, Christine Monta and Adam Unikowsky.
