The Court issued opinions today in the following two argued cases:
No. 04-1414, United States v. Grubbs, reversed 8-0, in an opinion written by Justice Scalia. Justice Souter, joined by Justices Stevens and Ginsburg, filed an opinion concurring in the judgment and in Parts I and II of the majority opinion, but with some qualifications with respect to Part III of the majority opinion.
No. 04-1371, Merrill, Lynch, etc. v. Dabit, vacated and remanded 8-0, in an opinion written by Justice Stevens.
