Stevens on death sentencing

Retired Justice John Paul Stevens, who emerged before leaving the Court as an opponent of capital punishment, has written a review of a book on death sentencing for The New York Review of Books.   The copyrighted article can be read here.  (Thanks to Howard Bashman of How Appealing blog for the link.)  Adam Liptak of The New York Times has this front-page discussion of Stevens’ role on the issue as a Justice.
