War crimes trial delayed at opening

The military commission trial of Canadian Omar Ahmed Khadr on war crimes charges was delayed by the presiding judge on Thursday after prosecutors revealed new evidence that might aid the defense. The development at Guantanamo Bay is discussed in this dispatch from the Armed Forces Press Service.   Howard Bashman of How Appealing blog has links to other coverage, and the New York Times website includes a story.  An account of a human rights observer who was in the commission hearing room has been posted at this link.
