Today at the Court

At 10 a.m., the Court may release the opinion in one or more pending cases.

Following the release of any opinions, the Court will hear 70 minutes of argument in the consolidates cases of Ricci v. DeStefano (07-1428) and Ricci v. DeStefano (08-328), on the City of New Haven’s duty to promote white workers who scored highest on the firefighter civil service exam. Gregory Coleman of Yetter, Warden & Coleman in Austin, Texas will argue for the firefighter petitioners. Edwin Kneedler, Deputy Solicitor General, will argue for 10 minutes for the United States as amicus curiae supporting vacatur and remand. Christopher Meade of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in Washington will argue for New Haven and its officials.
