		<description>I think you slightly misstated the holding in &lt;i&gt;Wallace v Kato&lt;/i&gt;, Lyle.  The statute of limitations in a false arrest section 1983 suit, according to the majority, runs not from the &quot;time of detention&quot; but  from the time the police detention &lt;b&gt;ends&lt;/b&gt; and the arrested person comes into judically sanctioned custody ordered by a court.  Probably not a difference of more than a day or two, but still (at least formally) a different time.
