Catholic Legal Thought and Raich
On whether medical-marijuana exemptions, and Raich, are consistent with Catholic Social Thought notions of “subsidiarity,” see the exchange between Rob Vischer and Rick Garnett at the always-interesting Mirror of Justice.
UPDATE: Tom Berg gets into the act, with a response from Rob Vischer.

The decision could have another implication for Catholic legal thought. The court applied (ir)rational basis review to a situation involving federal interference with a woman’s choice based on her doctor’s advice. While the court can readily distingish this case from others, I could see this aspect of the case affecting the nominations process and congress’s sense of what it can and cannot regulate.
Meanwhile, can anybody tell me how many wheat plants are in 11 acres?

I concur with arbitary aardvark. In response to his wheat question: It depends on the soil type, tepmture, and the type of wheat you plant.
