  1. I’m an appellate criminal-defense attorney in New York, and am very interested in an assessment of the oral argument in Holmes v. South Carolina last week. Aside from an unilluminating wire-service story, I haven’t come across anything about it. If any contributor or reader observed it, I’d very much like to hear what you thought.
