Argument day podcasts: Kentucky v. King

Continuing our series of podcasts on oral argument days, we have a podcast with Joshua D. Farley, Assistant Attorney General and counsel for the petitioner, the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Although the police usually need a warrant to enter someone’s home, there is an exception for emergency situations. At issue in the case is whether that exception can apply when the emergency is created by the lawful actions of the police.

Note: We had also planned to have counsel for respondent Hollis Deshaun King participate in the podcast, but at the last minute she was unable to do so.  Thus, unlike most podcasts, this podcast features only counsel for the petitioner, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, which we are posting without regard to its likelihood of success in the case.

For the petitioner, its counsel:

Joshua D. Farley, Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
