Court issues summer order list

This morning the Court issued a routine summer order list that (among other things) disposed of four stay applications and denied petitions for rehearing in over fifty cases.  The Court did not grant any new cases; the most notable rehearing denial came in the case of Indiana farmer Vernon Bowman, who lost his patent case against Monsanto earlier this year.  Consistent with its normal practice, the Court did not give any explanation for its order denying rehearing in Bowman’s case.  The order list also officially named Scott S. Harris, who currently serves as the Court’s legal counsel, to succeed General William K. Suter as Clerk of the Court effective September 1, 2013.  (Lyle covered Harris’s appointment earlier this month.)
