This week at the Court
On Friday, the Court announced that it will review the constitutionality of both the federal Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Proposition 8. The Court also granted three other cases. Lyle’s post on those orders is here; we also hosted a live blog.
On Monday, the Court issued one opinion, in Koleckner v. Solis. The Court also issued additional orders from its December 7 Conference. There were no new grants or CVSGs.
No oral arguments are scheduled until the January sitting begins on January 7. The next Conference is scheduled for January 4. Our list of “Petitions to watch” for that Conference will be available soon.
