Monday round-up

The Court is expected to issue orders and at least one opinion this morning.  Last week, two Justices “issued” commencement addresses.  Justice Elena Kagan spoke at the University of New Mexico Law School, as the Associated Press (via Deseret News) and Albuquerque Journal report.  Justice Kagan encouraged the graduates to do what they love and to serve the public.  Justice Sonia Sotomayor spoke at Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey; the Newark Star-Ledger and Mahwah Suburban News have coverage.  Justice Sotomayor told the graduating class that “you will be happiest when you accept what your gifts are and use them humbly.”  (Thanks to Howard Bashman and How Appealing.)

At Northwestern University, former Justice John Paul Stevens spoke at a symposium on his career.  The school’s website has a report, including audio recordings of several of the Justice’s comments.

Finally, the Deseret Sun has a lengthy profile of Deborah Gunter, one of the plaintiffs in Wal-Mart v. Dukes.
