Today’s opinions

This morning, the Court released three opinions and a summary reversal.

In Chase Bank v. McCoy (09-329), the Court voted unanimously to reverse and remand to the Ninth Circuit.  Justice Sotomayor wrote for the Court.

In Ortiz v. Jordan (09-737), the Court voted unanimously to reverse and remand to the Sixth Circuit.  Justice Ginsburg wrote the majority opinion.  Justice Thomas filed an opinion, joined by Justices Scalia and Kennedy, concurring in the judgment only.

In Thompson v. North American Stainless (09-291), the Court voted unanimously to reverse and remand to the Sixth Circuit.  Justice Scalia wrote for the Court.  Justice Ginsburg filed a concurring opinion, which was joined by Justice Breyer.  Justice Kagan did not take part.

In Swarthout v. Cooke(10-333), the Court summarily reversed the decision of the Ninth Circuit.  Justice Ginsburg filed a brief concurring opinion.
