The Week Ahead

On Monday, the Court is scheduled to hear argument in Sprint Communications v. APCC Services (07-552), involving Article III standing in a dispute over pay phone fees, and in Engquist v. Oregon Dept. of Agriculture (07-474), involving equal protection claims by public employees. In advance of the arguments, the Court is expected to release orders from the Justices’ private conference last Friday.

On Tuesday, the Court is scheduled to hear argument in Davis v. FEC (07-320), involving the constitutionality of the “Millionaire’s Amendment” to campaign finance laws, and in Giles v. California (07-6053), involving the admissibility of testimony from witnesses whose death was caused by the defendant.

On Wednesday, the Court is scheduled to hear argument in MetLife v. Glenn (06-923), involving conflicts of interest for ERISA plan administrators, and in Meacham v. Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (06-1505), involving burdens of proof in disparate impact age discrimination claims. In advance of the argument, the Justices may issue one or more opinions.
