		<description>As someone who grew up in South Texas, and studied at NYU Law, I am thankful for the Court&#039;s recognition of the differences between Latino groups.  We are far from a homogenous group, as I often tried to explain to my classmates at NYU.  South Texan Latinos specifically are themselves a dynamic group.  While still solidly Democratic, successive generations of South Texan Latinos are leaning more and more conservative in many respects, while the pollsters predict newer Latino immigrants will align with Democrats.  In any event, today&#039;s decision will hopefully open the minds of those who consider us a monolithic group.  Politicians who lump us together without attempting to understand us will do so at their peril.
